Who

Andrea Paternoster: a dream born among the beehives

Andrea Paternoster inherits from his grandfather the name and an infinite love for the noble art of beekeeping, to which he adds enthusiasm and passion: he wants to transform honey into a recognized, appreciated food capable of enriching any culinary preparation.

The desire to innovate and make honey increasingly fresh and accessible drives him to perfect a technique that promotes natural crystallization, capable of providing a unique creaminess and enhancing taste sensations.

Mieli Thun was born in the early nineties with the idea of creating a direct link between the brand and the quality of the product: Andrea’s tireless research and the resulting excellence in production have earned numerous accolades and the appreciation of internationally renowned chefs.

Mountain beekeeping: a heroic and shared journey

Bees are sensitive creatures, capable of recognizing emotions and teaching resilience. Spring is their New Year: life begins anew, and it is a time for care and actions that follow the rhythms of the earth.

Beekeeping in Trentino means facing difficult paths and distant blooms. It is a courageous profession, where bees and beekeepers must adapt to the rapid changes of the mountains, follow them, interpret them.
It is a shared project, carried forward by Elena and Francesca—Andrea’s daughters—together with a group of experienced and passionate individuals, guardians of the value this profession represents.

Val di Non, the land that welcomes us

Trentino-Alto Adige is a land of mountains, bodies of water, and gastronomic traditions.
Val di Non, home to Mieli Thun, is dressed in white twice a year: in winter with snow and in spring with the blooming of apple trees. It is a territory founded on the balance between man and nature, a place that invites you to slow down, rest, and breathe.

Mieli Thun is based in the small village of Vigo di Ton, not far from the renowned Castel Thun, once the residence of one of the most important feudal families in the region, from which it takes its name.
