in wintertime, particularly between january and february, the beekeeper’s proverbially busy life comes to a momentary pause. the bees slumber righteously and we have some time to devote to ourselves. reading, writing and traveling have always attracted us, a privileged path to learning and satisfying curiosities. a sincere proclivity for sharing knowledge and contact with many aficionados have inspired us to write about the beauty of honey and the noble tradition of beekeeping, a respected profession the world over. we have always regarded these publishing projects as open to all, and each new edition, like this website itself, are available to everyone and welcome contributions. among our efforts we wish to underscore mielicromia, a compendium of experiences. it is the fruit of many authors and suggestions from all over, by people who care about good food and fine cuisine. all wrapped up in game, using the local plants, the flight of the honeybees and the colors of their honeys to describe the beauty of nature seen through the bees’ compound eyes.
